The goal of this course is not to teach students what to think, but how to interpret.

Interpretative Intelligence is an introduction to symbolic thinking and the practice of interpretation. Through astrology, music, literature, film, and culture, students learn to recognize patterns, cultivate perception, and develop a richer understanding of the human experience.

Using astrology as our primary symbolic language, we’ll explore how meaning emerges across music, literature, film, philosophy, and culture. Rather than memorizing isolated facts, students will develop the habits of mind that allow thoughtful interpretation: careful observation, contextual reasoning, symbolic thinking, and intellectual humility.

This course is not about prediction.

It is about learning to perceive.

Whether reading a birth chart, listening to an album, watching a film, or engaging a work of literature, students will begin developing the interpretive capacities that deepen both understanding and imagination.
